Wigle Whiskey is named for a man who was sentenced to hang for his love of whiskey. Philip Wigle unwittingly sparked the Whiskey Rebellion, which pitted 1790s Pennsylvania distillers against George Washington's troops. Since opening in March 2012, Wigle Whiskey, Pittsburgh’s first distillery since Prohibition, has worked to restore Western Pennsylvania’s legacy as the Rye Whiskey epicenter of the country. The Distillery hosts 70,000 visitors each year, who learn about Whiskey production and its regional history. In 2015, Wigle became the most awarded craft whiskey distillery in the US by the American Craft Spirits Association and won Best Craft Rye Whiskey in America. Wigle makes each of its dozens of spirits, including Whiskeys, Gins, Honey Spirits and Bitters, grain-to-bottle from local, organic ingredients.
We're really excited about partnering with this great craft whiskey and hope you can join us to learn more about their Monongahela Rye!
